QuizUp: Makes Taking Quizzes Fun Again

It seems as if one of the newest crazes is QuizUp, a simple trivia game with a topic for everyone. I first discovered QuizUp when I saw it appear several times on my Twitter feed, the curious consumer of all things technology in me decided to check it out. I signed up quickly, chose to play the quiz on logos and have been doing so ever since.

Playing the game is literally as easy as the three step process QuizUp has posted on their site. You can challenge people in less than a minute. Once you've started a game you have 10 seconds to choose the right answer. The quicker you choose the right answer the more points you earn. Based on those points you earn XP points (reminds me of Pokemon) and those points are what advances you to the next level, making you an expert, minister of magic, novice, etc. based on your topic area. Each topic has its own level so you can be at level 5 in logos, but be on level 25 in animals. Once a round is finished you can choose to either continue playing with the same person or challenge someone else. (I've found that with most people battling against them is a one and done type of thing.)

+ With over 250 topics you'll never be bored and there's bound to be an area where you can succeed.

- I'm not sure if people don't like to challenge me or no one really challenges each other, but I feel like this feature should be used more often. Also, if someone challenged me there is no real type of notification.

+ Each topic has its own rankings which include global, national, state and nearby. So if you're way down in the global rankings, you can still be number one in your state.

- Right now it's only available at the App Store, but have no fear because it looks like they're working on developing an Android app because I did come across this job posting.
