Tumblr: Great on a Browser, Not So Great on an App

Tumblr, tumblr, tumblr, where should I start with this website? It's awesome, time consuming, full of politically correct hippies and people who are crazy good at creating gifs. Now let me talk about the app. It's slow, there's nothing really to look at and it's slow.

In all my app using days there have been few apps that I have been as disappointed in as I have with tumblr. For such a huge website I couldn't have been more surprised. Recently I saw a post about how mobile blogging on tumblr involved looking at gray boxes and either blindly reblogging or reblogging based off of the captions. I couldn't have said it better myself. Now I don't know how the Android app is because when I do use the tumblr app I'm on my iPad mini, but if it's anything like the iOS version it probably sucks too.

- Posts never seem to load. It doesn't matter if you have the fastest internet connection in the world, you'll still be scrolling down your dash looking at gray boxes.

+ While your dash doesn't always automatically update when you scroll to the top, 9 times out of 10 when you first launch the app it will automatically update.

- The notifications button doesn't always light up telling you that you have a new notification. I often find myself going to the notifications and refreshing it manually.

I really can't think of anymore positive things to say about this app and my negatives would just take over this post, so I will end it here. My advice is save yourself the space and don't download it. I also couldn't just give it a 1 star rating because it is tumblr and all.
