SongPop: A Musical Guessing Game

Whether you're an avid music fan or just a casual listener, you're bound to like SongPop. With hundreds of available playlists to choose from SongPop is sure to please just about anyone.

SongPop is available on all platforms, including the Kindle, making it easy to switch from online to your phone or tablet. You have the ability to link your account to your Facebook so you can challenge friends or you can choose to be matched up with someone who has a similar music taste to you.

Each round consists of 5 clips from songs of a certain genre and you, the player, must match the clip to either the title of the song or artist. Depending on how quickly you guess the correct answer will determine the number of points you receive. Every time you get a correct answer you'll receive, I call it star power, so when a star is filled you unlock more songs in that playlist.

At the end of the round whichever player has the most points earns coins which can be used towards purchasing more playlists. Also, at the end of every week on Sunday the games are reset and you are awarded more points if you win the game against your opponent. Say you played Sally a total of 10 times throughout the week and you won 6 games and she won 4. You'd earn 1 power point which can also be used in the store.

+ There is a WIDE variety of music available, anything from the Top 40 to 1950s. There's bound to be a genre you can rock.

- Sometimes it is hard to scroll in the store, especially on the tablet version. You'll drag your finger thinking you're scrolling down, but instead it recognizes it as a click.

+ VIP members can play up to 80 individual games at a time.

- You can't buy more coins with your power points, you can only buy coins with actual money. This can be a problem, if you're like me and rarely use the power points during gameplay because other than that they serve no purpose.
